Broadway debut for a promising playwright…

…a fellow by the name (well, technically, nom de plume) of Mark Twain:

Set in France in the 1840s, Is He Dead? follows a group of starving artists who stage the death of their mentor in an effort to boost the value of his work.

Twain wrote it in 1898 (he died in 1910), but it was never performed.
