Brenna peered out into the snow-filled courtyard as best she could through the thick winding vines of frost-drawn ice covering her bedroom window.

I had two good writing sessions today, although the rather high word count is a bit misleading: much of today's "writing" was little more than retyping stuff I'd already written, because today's big scene was pretty good in the first draft, good enough to plug into place in the new version with only minor edits (major edits, if any, will come during the rewriting process for the whole novel, once I've got a first draft finished).
My first writing session today was at Second Cup in Regina's Cornwall Centre, the very coffee shop I mentioned ...

Chris Keating looked around at the assembled Kemonomimi and debated the wisdom of telling "Victor Hansen" that he was full of crap.Words today: 2,449Total words: 37,745Percent complete: 31.5A good day today. One of the scenes that went missing mysteriously was my focus, and it turned out much better than I think it was the first time I wrote it, which is nice. Mainly that's because I had my synopsis with me this time and last time I didn't, so I originally wrote the scene in a way that would have caused me problems later. So for today's scene, the loss was probably a blessing in disguise. Not for the major action scene that ...

Cheveldeoff sat in the main briefing room of the Retribution with Grand Deacon Braun, watching the video feeds streaming back from the descending shuttle.Current word count: 78,849New words this session: 1,074Percentage of novel completed: 78.8Everything today was written in the 45 minutes or so I had to myself in the snack room of the Conservatory of Performing Arts this morning while Alice was three floors up in ballet class and Margaret Anne was off running other errands. That makes it one of the few sections not written in Second Cup.I wonder if I'll be able to tell the Second Cup from the non-Second Cup sections when I get to revising?

"BPS Sanctification to approaching vessel," Chris Keating said into the microphone of the headset he'd worn since the ship's computer had announced that another Holy Warrior vessel had entered the system.Current word count: 77,775New words this session: 2,511Percentage of novel completed: 77.7I wrote more words than it looks like today; once again I backed up a bit just to insert some additional information that made what I needed to happen today to advance the plot appropriately make sense. That entailed erasing as many words as I wrote, at least, which makes the daily total look a little small, since I computed it by subtracting yesterday's word count from today's word count. Of course, my ...
