Some risk factors you can’t do anything about

Take this study: “Taller people more likely to develop atrial fibrillation” it says.

I’m 6’2″, not extraordinarily tall, but tall enough. Over a period of 10 years beginning in 1986 I suffered four brief (no more than a couple of days at worst) spells of atrial fibrillation. It’s now been just about 10 years since the last one; they haven’t returned (knock wood).

Tests failed to discover any physical reason for these spells. Perhaps it’s just the thinness of the air up here.
