The Stardance project

Jeanne Robinson, wife of Canadian SF writer Spider Robinson, was on the short list to take a ride into orbit back when NASA had its Civilians in Space program, which was shut down in the wake of the Challenger disaster.

Jeanne, a dancer, had hoped to pioneer zero-gravity dance, which she and Spider had already described in their classic novel Stardance.

Now, reports Robert J. Sawyer on his blog:

Jeanne, and Michael Lennick — producer of Discovery Channel’s Rocket Science and author of the screenplay adaptation of my Illegal Alien — plus Hugo Winning artist Ron Miller and others, have teamed up to make a computer-generated film based on Stardance — and they need your help! I read Stardance when I was a teenager and still remember it well. I hope the project (you should pardon the expression) takes flight.
