An appreciation of Robert A. Heinlein

Robert A. Heinlein was undoubtedly my favorite author at one time of my life (I devoured the Heinlein “juveniles,” liked some of his mid-career adult stuff, was left cold by Stranger in a Strange Land, and kept reading his later stuff mostly hoping that it would somehow enthrall me as the earlier stuff did, which it never managed to do). He was born in the same town as my mother, Butler, Missouri, on July 7, 1907, which means, of course, that his centenary is almost upon us.

Here’s an appreciation of his work with an emphasis on his politics. I’m sure there’ll be many more from various angles over the next few days.
