I was honoured at yesterday’s annual general meeting of SaskBooks, Saskatchewan’s provincial creative industry association for book publishers, to be elected to the board of directors. I look forward to helping the organization continue to build and promote the Saskatchewan publishing industry, of which I’m a part through Shadowpaw Press.
More about SaskBooks:
We don’t publish books, but are a member-based not-for-profit association whose members are book publishers operating in Saskatchewan. Our publishers are small and independent businesses. The creative economy in the publishing sector includes business models like academic and scholarly publishers, literary presses, hybrid presses, self-publishers, and niche publishers. SaskBooks provides programs and services to its publisher members, including but not limited to industry-specific facilitated learning opportunities, co-operative and joint marketing projects, and we act as a champion for the book publishing sector in the province.
SaskBooks has an online store from which you can buy members’ books, and also runs a book review site, SaskBooks Reviews, where you can read reviews of members’ books.
