Life finds a way…

No matter how extreme the environment, life manages to get a foothold. This means two things to me. One, it’s highly unlikely human beings can ever really manage to eradicate all life on the planet (althought we might be able to knock it down to the insect or even microbe level, if we really tried, and two, there’s probably a lot of life in the rest of the universe. Whether there’s a lot (or any) intelligent life is another question, of course–but life of some sort, somewhere else, is almost a certainty.
