No feathered dinosaurs after all?
That’s what a team led by Dr. Alan Feduccia of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill says in a new paper. Listen to this:
“The theory that birds are the equivalent of living dinosaurs and that dinosaurs were feathered is so full of holes that the creationists have jumped all over it, using the evolutionary nonsense of ‘dinosaurian science’ as evidence against the theory of evolution,” he said. “To paraphrase one such individual, ‘This isn’t science . . . This is comic relief.'”
I don’t follow paleontological debate very closely, but I have a strong feeling that “them’s fightin’ words.”
I’d love to know what Dr. Phil Currie has to say, for example…and if I find out, I’ll pass it along.
