The first sentence I wrote today…

The reinforcements from Hansen’s Harbor arrived two hours after the message went out from the grounded Sanctification.

Current word count: 100,184
New words this session: 4,210
Percentage of novel completed: 100

Yes, that’s right. That’s the first sentence I wrote today, up above, but the last two words I wrote today on the new novel were my favorite words of all:

THE END

I’ll let it rest until next week, then plunge back in with revisions, some of which will be quite major. Right now it’s a mess, with characterizations all over the place, plot points that come out of nowhere, inconsistencies galore, and at least one character that I just realized I’d completely forgotten about after introducing her rather early on.

Should be fun. I may make that December 20 deadline for a finished manuscript yet.

Of course, I do have one or two other things to worry about…things I’ve been working on concurrently. So I’ll keep posting the “first sentence of the day,” I just won’t limit it to fiction any more.

Anyway…woo-hoo!
