Take off those headphones!
I realize it’s just another sign of my advancing codgerdom, but it annoys me to see people walking around wearing headphones or earpods. I gave the original Walkman a try, back in the day, and found I hated being cut off from the world that way. I keep expecting to hear about a huge upswing in the number of people run over by buses because they just didn’t hear them coming. (Not actually a current concern in Regina, where we have a city workers’ strike on at the moment, and hence no buses running, but still…)
Not that anybody cares what I think. But maybe they’ll care that they may very well be damaging their hearing.
