No blogging for the past few days due to a trip to Saskatoon (and back, and there, and back again). We went up to see Sting and Annie Lennox at Saskatchewan Place. Fabulous concert (not the greatest venue in the world, being a hockey rink, but adequate). I had to drive back the very next morning to give a talk on the X-Prize to a local group, then went back to Saskatoon for the Saskatchewan Writers Guild annual general meeting. Among other guests, Robert J. Sawyer was there. He’s a friend, so it was nice to get a chance to see him for a bit.
Got some good news over the weekend, too, but it’s a secret for a few more days…watch this space!
Sunday morning we woke to snow, and it’s snowing here, too. I’m glad we made the trip yesterday instead of today, since yesterday the highways were still clear. Today, there’s been more snow and some freezing rain, too. It’s supposed to be cold all week; our great fear is that this will turn out to be like last year, when the snow came early…and stayed until spring. They’re saying it might warm up next Monday, but a long-long-range forecast is pretty much guesswork, so we’ll believe it when we see it.
Today I’ve been catching up on stuff that piled up while I was gone. It’s a busy week coming up: I have to finish up the hockey material for the Saskatchewan Science Centre, plus I do two school readings on Wednesday, have rehearsals three nights, do a live version of my TV show Net.talk on Thursday…and I’m still plugging away at Excalibur Reforged–I’ve already put in an hour on it today.
But I’ll try to blog a thing or two along the way, for the six or so visitors a day I average to this site. (Instapundit, I ain’t.)
