They grow up so fast…
Way back in 1994, I directed (for the first time) a production of the Royal Canadian Legion Second World War revue We’ll Meet Again for Regina Lyric Light Opera. Among the cast members was a girl named Cailin Stadnyck (in the white blouse in this picture). It may have been the first musical she’d ever been in; it was certainly one of the first.
And now I find she’s performing professionally all over the place in B.C. In January, in fact, she won an OVATION Award for her performances as Fanny Brice in the Arts Club Theatre Company’s production of Funny Girl. Further Googling reveals she was even a guest performer on an episode of Battlestar Galactica.
*SNIFF.* They grow up so fast.
Anyway, congratulations, Cailin! You’ve come a long way from those rehearsals in the Legion lounge…
