Alien spaceships in northern Saskatchewan?

As a teenager I was quite Mulderish regarding the spaceshippiness of UFOs, but the older I get, the more skeptical I get. Thus reports of strange glowing vehicles skimming a northern Saskatchewan lake mainly make me think, “What the heck would alien spaceships want with a northern Saskatchewan lake? Pickerel?”

But, nonetheless, northern Saskatchewanians are indeed reporting strange lights in the sky.

Although I must quarrel with this wording:

Some of the people who have observed the lights don’t know what they were looking at, but Lapratt said he doesn’t have any doubts.

“They were UFOs,” he said. “They couldn’t be anything else.”

Let us review. UFO is not a synonym for “alien spaceship,” it is an acronym for “Unidentified Flying Objects.” So one could reword this to say:

“Some of the people who have observed the lights couldn’t identify the flying objects, but Lapratt says he doesn’t have any doubts.

“They were flying objects I couldn’t identify,” he said. “They couldn’t be anything else.”

“Department of Redundancy and Repetition Department on Lines 4, 5 and 6!”
