The first in an occasional series I’m calling “Things I Found in My Mother-in-Law’s House.”
This is the head of a brass elephant, obviously. It’s one of two, on marble stands, obviously intended as book ends. The question is, why is there a matching candlestick holder? Would you put it in the middle of a line of books? Surely not. Would you read by it? Well, these things are a few decades old, but they hardly predate electricity.
At the moment, I have no idea.
Nice elephant, although, as winter approaches, a brass monkey might be more appropriate to the Saskatchewan climate.
