Saskatoon afternoon

So here I am in Saskatoon, blogging to you live from the Radisson.

The bus ride up was uneventful, if foggy in spots (see the previous post with a shot I rather hastily took out the bus window as we pulled into Davidson). I arrived a good 45 minutes before I needed to be at the TV station for my noon interview on CTV Sasaktoon’s News at Noon with Jeff Rogstad, but not having anywhere else to go, I just went to the station and waited in the green room, which I soon regretted, since it’s tiny, offers nothing in the way of refreshments (a coffee urn would be nice) and has rock-hard furniture in it dating from, at a guess, the 1970s.

However, the interview itself went well enough, although noon-hour shows cycle through their interviewees at a speedy clip, so you have to be very careful not to get long-winded. I don’t think I said anything too stupid, though, and hopefully didn’t frighten away anyone who was considering coming to the reading tonight.

Afterward, I paid a visit to the men’s washroom, where I discovered the kind of wallpaper to which the only possible response is, “What were they thinking?”

Here’s a long shot (why, yes, I did have my camera with me in the washroom–you didn’t expect me to leave it up for grabs out in the green room, did you?):

Perhaps you are thinking to yourself, is that really a leopard-skin print on the wall?

Why, yes. Yes, it is:

Then it was off to the Spadina Free House for lunch, and finally here to the Radisson, where I have a nice corner room with a view of the river:

I’m about to order a taxi and head to the bookstore. I’ll probably post a short report on how the reading went later.

OMG! That wallpaper is too much! And I shall assure my children to never get in a van papered with it ‘cuz I know what goes down in those vans. (j/k)

I SO want that wallpaper! Not for my bathroom, though. In fact, not for my walls. I want to re-upholster my van!
