Writing Diary: July 8, 2004

Not much writing yesterday; just a half hour or so at Starbucks with Excalibur Reforged, partly because I had to run other errands (a new, post-weight-loss column picture for the newspaper had to be taken, I had to go to the office supply store, etc.), partly because those darn chairs are just too uncomfortable. Starbucks is OK when I can get a padded bench, but otherwise, half an hour is about all I can manage–one reason I don’t go there very often.

Of course, Starbucks is also in Chapters, so I browsed the shelves and came away with the trade paperback edition of Devil in the White City by Erik Larsen, which I’d been searching for. I think it’ll be my next book after Red Thunder…but now I’m dipping into Reading Diary material, so I’ll desist.

I also had to do a bunch of SF Canada administrative stuff yesterday; more of that today, but I’ll be back at Excalibur Reforged later and hopefull get some work done on Chapter 2 of the Orson Scott Card biography.
