Audiobook of Jimi Hendrix: Kiss the Sky now available

I had a nice surprise in the mail today: the audiobook version of my children’s biography of Jimi Hendrix, Jimi Hendrix: Kiss the Sky. The book was published by Enslow Publishers; the audibook was created by Recorded Books.

Narrator Ezra Knight

Narrator Ezra Knight does an absolutely fabulous job, not surprising considering what an accomplished actor he is. In fact, as I started listening to the book, I had to get out my print copy because it sounded so good I actually thought they must have rewritten the introduction–but no, those were my words!

According to a letter the publisher sent along with the two copies of the audiobook I received, this is the first Enslow Publishers title to be recorded as a full audio book. I feel honoured!

Also, I’m really enjoying listening to my own book. I usually read my own stuff out loud. Nice to hear someone else for a change!

Ezra has been fabulous on so many fronts. In the early 90’s I brought him over to Sweden (I was a producer for the Swedish company called Revyskolan) with the company Living Stage that he was working with. He in particular made such an enormous impact with his preformance. I would love to get in touch with him again- So if you could- Please forward this (my email) to him. It would be greatly appriciated!
The Best of Luck to you with your book 🙂

Hi, Pauline. Alas, I have no contact information for Ezra. You might try the audiobook publisher, which hired him to read my book.

Thanks, Brian. It’s the first of my books to be an audiobook, so I’m quite tickled by the whole thing.

Ed: Glad you like the audio book. I think both the writing and the audio recording are very well done. Recorded Books has this for sale on their website and will incorporate it into a educational reading program they have. Enjoy! Brian
