A good day today, since I got in two fiction writing sections, thanks to a rehearsal schedule that kept me busy first thing in the morning and late in the afternoon, but not in between.

And man, I do like today’s first sentence. So much so that when I revise, I may move that scene to the beginning of the book, which would make this the opening sentence. What do you think? Would today’s sentence grab you if you read it in a bookstore while browsing?

Whether I move today’s scene to the beginning or not, I suspect I won’t make quite as big a jump in wordage tomorrow because I’m going to rewrite part of what I wrote today to make it more exciting. But we’ll see: tomorrow’s rehearsal schedule leaves me with a couple of good-sized openings to sneak in a bit of writing, as well. So maybe I’ll do better than I think.
