The first sentence I wrote today…

“We’ve got to rescue him,” she said.

Words today: 2,984
Total thus far: 50,405
Percentage complete: 42

A pretty good day: past the 50,000-word mark, and thus 42 percent of the way to 120,000 words (but remember, I’m only contracted for 100,000, and if that’s what my total ends up being, I’m past halfway!).

I hope to do lots tomorrow! It’s cooking along pretty good now, and I got a new Bluetooth Stowaway Keyboard for my Pocket PC phone today via UPS–identical to the previous one, except for branding, but the old one, having been crushed a couple of times and having already endured my pounding fingers for a couple of hundred thousand words, was beginning to fail.

I do love these little foldaway keyboards, and highly recommend them for anyone looking for something similar!

I really like this keyboard. It locks nicely into place so you can hold it on your lap, and the keys are pleasant to type on. And it’s great for me, because I like to write fiction out of my office where I don’t have the Internet constantly calling me..

Of course, I could get the same effect by taking my laptop downstairs and not plugging in the wireless card, but would even the stairs be enough to prevent me from answering the siren call of Scrabulous on Facebook? I fear not.

You write to a mobile? Wow – that’s pretty cool. I used to have one of those Palm foldable keyboards I used with my Vx in university to take notes… pretty decent if your typing is faster than your writing (which it is, in my case). I don’t know that I would have wanted to write anything extended (or important) on it, but that may have been a function of the software and not the typing experience itself.
