Willett of the Day: A.T. Willett, photographer

I dabble in photography, but A.T. Willett, based in Tucson, is the real thing: check out the beautiful images at his website.

Here’s a bit of biography from the section of his site devoted to his book Passion Junkie:

“A. T. Willett has been a Photojournalist for the last 18 years. Starting work at the age of twenty, working at the local Gannett newspaper the Tucson Citizen. With his own personal vision and a camera, Willett learned to illustrate the stories of the daily news. The newspaper business is not the “Good News” business and many of the stories involved tragedy of one type or another. Being exposed to life and death on a daily basis has changed the way he experiences the world…

“Later on in life, stories of his life experiences became ideas, which were later refined into the life concepts of the book. Also a great source of knowledge were stories of the people he would meet on his search to expand this vision. Many of these life concepts have the theme of creating a personal vision based on an unrestricted, unlimited view of the world. Willett had originally intended to make a film based on these very same concepts, a film to motivate people to live the life of their dreams.

“In 1990 he attended New York Universities Intensive Film workshop where he learned many aspects of film making. In 1997 he realized the passion film would reach a greater audience if this concept were changed from a film into a book about the energy of passion.

“In my life I want to be more than I can imagine, there is so much more to life as I stand here today I can not even see the place where I will stand tomorrow. The pathway which forms beneath my feet is liquid shimmering with beautiful light and color, it transforms itself with every decision I make. The people who have crossed my pathway have expanded my vision and helped to form my inner core. My imagination, my creativity and my desire to make the world a better place will create my personal destiny.”
