Yesterday at the
Festival of Words went well, though I was late to the party, which, after all, began on Thursday. In fact, I showed up for my reading without passing by whatever registration desk there must have been somewhere and so proceeded without a name tag. Fortunately, no one threw me out for not belonging.
I actually began my time in Moose Jaw eating at one of my favorite places, the Hopkins Dining Parlor, located in a heritage home--that's it in the first photo--where I was a bit startled to be recognized by another diner as a science columnist and asked a question about the space shuttle (which I ...

Going to the
Festival of Words in Moose Jaw this weekend (or there already)? I'm one of the presenters!
Here are my events:
Today, 2:40 p.m., I'm reading with Linda Bailey in the South Room of the Moose Jaw Public Library.
Today at 5 p.m., I plan to attend the Saskatchewan Writers Guild Reception upstairs in the Moose Jaw Cultural Centre.
Tomorrow at 4 p.m., I'll be interviewing Jack Whyte onstage at the Mae Wilson Theatre; he'll also be reading.
Sunday at 11:20 a.m., I'll be reading with Gail Bowen in the aptly named Reading Room of the Moose Jaw Public Library.
Hope to see you there!

I'll be on Saskatoon's CFCR Community Radio's Saskatoon Book Report program today at 6:30 p.m. Saskatchewan time (that's Central Standard Time, NOT Central Daylight Time, thank you very much; we don't hold with that new-fangled high-falutin clock-changing nonsense here, nosirree!). You can listen as host Ian Goodwillie attempts to get coherent answers out of me by calling up this live feed at the appointed hour:

Tomorrow's the big day when Terra Insegura officially hits bookstore shelves, and so, with great fanfare, I announce the Great Terra Insegura Book Give-Away Contest, twin to the very successful Marseguro give-away I ran when that book came out--except with one great exception: this time, I'm giving books to two people every week for the next month.
Here's how it works. To enter, all you have to do is either (a) leave a comment below (with a valid e-mail address) telling me you'd like to enter or (b) email me at edward(at)edwardwillett.com to that effect (use "Terra Insegura" as the subject to be sure I don't miss it).
